Hey guys,
Am planing to tune my car in October hopefully once I have the free time[emoji16].
Would like to consult u, what is the max torque/ power I can go for AWD Infiniti fx35 without damaging my gear box [emoji16]. Dont have the budget for the time being to do any upgrades for the 7 speed transmission.
I heard that it can handle up to 680hp on the engine with its equivalent torque not sure though

FX's should use the RE7R01B which is the revised version of the 7 speed used in G/Z. It's rated at 442 ft/lbs of torque.

Transmissions are never rated based on horsepower, always torque. Horsepower isn't a real thing, it's just a calculated number. Transmission and drivetrain only see torque as that is an actual force.

Being AWD, you also have to factor in whether your transfer case and drivetrain can handle the power. Launching an AWD car is very hard on the drivetrain.

Did you end up buying this Turbo Kit from Gamma Motors? If so, how long did they take to ship to your door?

Yeah I went to gamma but for the fx AWD it took some time but I was not in hurry, it took a month and so to ship it. Also it is not a direct fit, it is need some mod but other car, it took one week to ship it.

Will c what it will happen cuz am busy with work these days and my car in another country.
I ll write my experience and the project after Finish the work.

Ok, cool. I'm just asking because I want to gauge Gamma Motors' work reliability after the change of ownership. Based on what you said, they are doing better than GTM.

If you can keep the scene informed with your build experiences, that would be great!

tune it at 8psi or less and leave it. You wont be disappointed and you wont really damage anything. Make sure to get an oil cooler and trannsmission cooler. With the turbo kit that gamma sells, you will need to chop and weld some things around for the FX35. May need more work to fit the turbos because your car is AWD but it shouldnt be a big issue

Yeah, there were some changes cut and weld, actually am gona go up to 12 psi if not a max to 14 psi, already done an upgrade to forged piston and rods with a 10:1 ratio instead of the stock 10.6:1.[emoji48]. Am in the final stages, the problem I got engaged with work this month with no off days 12 hrs a day in night, so minor things kept it in hold till I had an off to finish the final touches [emoji16]

They are ok and cooperative at least, better respond compared to GTM, they are kinda not organized but ll not blame them cuz they were new in the business and the period that I bought the kit they were shifting their shop/ store. My friend he got his kit shipped within a week.

I dealt with him ( owner) mostly in whatsapp and he is responding in a fast manner . Let me hear from my other coleage about his experience and ll let you know.

I paid for some parts but they did not ship it due to it is not fitting my car, and he promise that he ll refund it in couple of week, I cant judge till I receive it and make my kit work. [emoji16]

Eh? If you redid the pistons and rods, why not go for lower compression ratio instead? At lower a ratio, you can push higher boost to generate more power. Obviously, lots of tuning are required.
My point is, if you're doing all the work already, why not produce more power. (y)

If you look at the specs of some of factory turbo engines, you will see that their compression ratio is really low. Of course, there is a fine line between engine efficiency and produced power.

10:1 is already lower than OEM. If the parts are stronger than I think they'll handle the power just fine. You don't want to build a dyno queen that's undriveable. Lower compression too much and your off boost response suffers. Lots of factory turbo cars at ~10:1.
