Review of newly installed MantaRay CAIu
Hello IS Forum ..... this will be a short review of a member developed product.
First off let me say that Joe is a pleasure to do business with. Joe is very responsive and provided updates along the way. My MantaRay CAI was shipped on Saturday and arrived Monday morning; just in time for my install prior to my quick trip to Myrtle Beach on Wednesday.
The CAI arrived well packed with lot's of shipping peanuts and air packs; don't think Joe was taking any chances.
This was probably one of the most complete and well thought out MOD's I have done on any vehicle. The package contained everything I would need to install from a step-by-step "Color" manual to every bolt, fastener and zip tie. To my amazement every detail was laid out for a simple and clean install ..... Joe left nothing to chance and even included the razor blade to slice and dice with. It's the little things like that that show you the attention to detail you get when you purchase one of these MantaRay CAI's. These are extremely high quality components and are well worth the investment for your FX.
Until recently today I had the factory airbox and really wanted a CAI. Many years ago I tried the short ram from LMS and it caused a rough idle and occasional stalls. Well the MantaRay has exhibited none of these characteristics.
In fact the FX has more power, doesn't hesitate when you press the "GO" pedal and now you can really hear it breathe.
With the new CAI the exhaust note has really opened up and I feel the improved throttle response from the additional airflow.
The CAI made a world of difference for the exhaust system and is letting it truly "sing".
Breather and Exhaust Mods:
1. MantaRay CAI for 1st Gen FX45
2. Stillen CatBack Double Y with Resonator Delete
3. Dual Flowmaster Super 44's
4. Stillen Tips
Only 1 more piece to complete my breather and exhaust mods .... Grrrrrr custom fabricated long tube headers with HFC
I can only imagine what she will sound like with the headers .... now it is very meaty with a very aggressive sound - the MantaRay opened up the unique "burble" "burble" from my VK45 ......
If you have a 1st Gen FX45 - Don't hesitate to pick one of these up well designed, HQ component CAI's ...... you won't regret it! :good::good:
