Thanks so much for the reply, porkandbeans!

Yes, you are definitely right, the Manta Ray intake IS hard to find. I’ve posted this same question on multiple Infiniti Facebook groups too and haven’t received any response. You are definitely the first so, thanks! This is in addition to setting up a saved search notification on EBay but no leads there either. I tried contacting the builder of these, Slamming45, and he hasn’t signed on this forum in years though.

I’ve always dreamed of owning an FX45 and purchased mine in May. It’s been a special bucketlist item to check off and I love it more and more. There is nothing like them.

Yes, if you are willing to part with your Manta Ray at some point, from one FX45 enthusiast to another, I would be very interested! :-)

Also look for Wolf Technologies intake. That's actually what I have, and what our only option was before Slamming on here developed his own. (The Manta Ray adds the improvement of cone heat shield that the Wolf didn't have. Thus, I run my Wolf in the winter, and K&N drop-in in the summer when heat in unbearable)
You're bringing back memories. The FX scene was strong back then.

Makes sense! I was looking at those too and it looks like you can still purchase them. I had the same thoughts as you RE the heat shield deal. Do you notice much of a difference with your JWT?

Yup, a lot of history here in the archives. Unfortunately, forums aren’t what they used to be after Facebook groups came around; they aren’t the same in my book for a variety of reasons but that’s another discussion. I just hope forums don’t get removed for one reason or another as all of that history would be gone, especially for research.

Ah yes, JWT. It's been many years. It is a bit louder of a howl and it has quicker throttle response. Breathes better; just not when such hot air. And I believe the OEM is discontinued, so hang on to that too.
The next thing might be to polish your intake manifold. . ..inside for performance, and outside looks AMAZING polished.

Let me know if you need these hard-to-come-by engine parts in the future. I have some extra VK45 engines and internal pieces floating around.

Good to know about the factory intake.

Thank you for the offer! I will definitely keep that in mind. I am hoping it will be solid vehicle for years to come. :-) It is a vehicle that feels exclusive and is a blessing to own it.

Do you have a picture or two that you can post of the JWT intake? It would be great to see what one actually looks like installed on the 45! Thank you! :)

No problem Austen. Luckily, after all these years, I was still able to source the parts to build one for you. Enjoy!
