Loose speaker / amp connection on Bose radio? 2004 fx45

Hi Everyone,

I'm experiencing a problem with the Bose system in my 2004 fx45. All of the speakers on the driver side seem to fade in and out like there's a loose connection. Is there an amp and the connection for the left side might be loose? Any suggestions where I should check first?

This is a known problem with the stock head unit. Unfortunately, it's not a loose connection. The hu is done, and time to track down another one. I've been through 2, jumbosrule I think has been through 4 of the stock headunits.

Symptoms are: speakers stop playing, hear static in speakers, usually it gets worse when it's warm outside. Mine usually starts with the CD player and eventually will go out when playing the normal radio.

I used this guy 2 years ago, and it's been working great...luckily I'm local so he swapped it put for me in 15 minutes.

Hi Toy4x. So it's likely just the part which is included in the ebay auction above? Any idea how hard it is to replace? Guess I can do it this summer while not driving the car.

Pretty easy fix. The front faceplate pops off but you have to be EXTREMELY careful with the ribbon cable. That cable alone is $80 and very hard to find! The guy above actually has this cable.

Not a hard fix at all. You can take out and install within 30 minutes on your first time.
