Longevity of Timken Front Wheel Bearings

Hi all. It's been a while since I've posted on here.

I changed out my front wheel bearings and hubs on my FX at around 140k miles. Now at 186k miles, I been noticing excessive tire noise. Today, I raised the front end and checked both wheels for play. The passenger side is fine but the driver side seems to have more movement. I thought wheels bearings should last alot longer than 45k miles.

I don't have an answer, but I do have a related question of my own:

I noticed a rhythmic noise coming from the front wheels when turning, took the car to the garage and they say both front wheel bearings need to be replaced. They can do it today and quote $835 incl. tax for the job (SoCal).
Is that a reasonable amount? The parts seem to be inexpensive, but they say it will take a half day.

$800 (part & labor) for replacing one hub bearing is way too high. I think its fair around $500 (part & labor).

Actually, two, but yeah, I know that now.

However, they kind of had me over the barrel. The car was there on the bridge, and I could have said "no thanks", but I need the car every day and last week they did do a free oil change/tire rotation/wheel balancing because they forgot to check what I asked them to do. They gave me a $45 discount today, but it still sucks.

I talked to the manager and he got all nervous when I mentioned the part prices. I also got a quote from another garage for $620.

Hello.Plz help me. I have infiniti fx35 2004 rwd.I need front wheel bearing.Can u say is there a difference between bearings rwd and 4wd?
 
Ok thank you for ansver. I 5 times change front wheel bearing and don't understand they
do not hold.All times all bearings was from AWD.Can this be a bearing problem?
 
If the axle can fit into the AWD hub bearing, I can't see if that would caused premature failure though. May just be a bad batch of bearing?
 
Hello.Who knows fit front wheel bearing from infiniti g35 to fx 35 ? In some sites write its how analog.
 
I bought a set of bearing/hub assembly's from rockauto.com for $106 delivered to my door. Took about 1.5 hours to replace both sides with no lift on the ground in my driveway. Whoever told you $835 is an f'ing thief. Stay far away from that guy...
