LEDs in dome lights staying lit

This has just happened for the first time on the way to work after 2 years of having these lights in. As I was driving, dome lights were off, then I noticed a flicker and dome lights came on, but just a little, they aren't bright like when I turn them on, but lit enough for me to notice they are on. I never had this problem before in this car, or previous cars.

Any of you have this issue or know what might be causing it? Are the LEDs burning out or something? I haven't had a chance to pop the cover off and see if they all work.

Maybe the resistor on the LED is failing. The reason LEDs cause bulb errors or hyperblinking or don't turn all the way off is usually because they are so low resistance. Even when off, your dome light is getting a tiny amount of current and a normal bulb has enough resistance it's not going to power up. LEDs have much lower resistance and current needs so they have resistors built in to make them mimic the load of a normal bulb. If a resistor goes, it could cause the problem you're having. Or a single LED may have gone out which would lower the resistance as well. I'd see if any burned out and if not, I'd swap bulbs to see if that's the cause.

thanks, I will look into it. I found it weird that all 3 bulbs started doing it at the same time. 2 in the front and 1 in the middle.

They're all on the same circuit. I found that out when my flip down monitor was installed. It has LEDs and there is a setting for 1/2 light. When I put the switch there, the front lights come on dimly along with the LEDs on the monitor.
