Leaking oil from somewhere! Any known trends?

Location

So i have been seeing small oil spots on the ground for awhile now in the spot that i park in at home. However, it is shared with other people so i didnt think anything of it. yesterday, my brakes got hot and were smelling after going through the mountains, and while looking at the front brakes, i could see a small collection of oil on the drip pan, and a little spray on the suspension and wheel well on the left side. i think i have a small leak somewhere, towards the left rear of the engine if anywhere. is there any known problems or trends with leaking oil?

also getting under there and take the under belly cover off to check the source.
wipe your finger on the suspected "oil" and verify its oil or coolant or brake fluid or etc.
maybe a loose oil drain plug?

Well i found that the dipstick rubber was worn away and not seating all the way. the mechanic said that there is enough oil pressure to push out oil if the dipstick is not seated properly. going to infiniti today to get a new dipstick. is there enough pressure to force oil all the way up that tube if the dipstick isnt seated?

i dont think its coming from the engine cooler gasket because the leak was on the opposite side.

pressure?

so i read that overpressure in the crank can cause oil to come out of the dipstick. is there a PVC that i need to check to make sure it is venting properly like on most engines?

b.s. i have the same things and my money is on the valve cover gasket.. which if i remember correctly is $$$ cant buy a gasket to replace you have to buy the whole valve cover yikes!
