Obviously the mirror is present for admiring your own face as you sit in your new toy (death trap?), hopefully not while driving.

Or possibly it is there to trick would be buyers into believing this is somehow a logical purchase as a vehicle... "Oh look, it has mirrors, therefore, it must be a great vehicle for groceries/soccer games/etc." Just thinking out loud here!
