KYB struts with OEM springs?

So I really need to replace the struts on the front of my 03 fx45. Looking around the kyb’s seem to be the ticket. Question one, do I need replace the springs? Question two if Is it possible to get the HHR spring but only on the front? I don’t wanna lose a lot of ride height as roads can be bad up here. I think my springs are good all around but if there shot anywhere it’s the fronts. What does the ride look like with HHR drop of 1 to 1.5 inch drop just up front. Anyone done this?

1: Springs generally last the life of the car.
2: I know H&R springs comes in four (two front and tw rear)

Springs will not need to be replaced. They last the life of the car.

If for any reason you have a need to replace the springs, you have a far larger problem than the springs. (Like you have wrapped the front end of your car around a pole, totalled it etc..)

I would have to recommend against replacing just the fronts with lowering springs, as I do not believe it will look good. But personal preference willl dictate this. I see no mechanical reason for it to harm the car.

Hey guys...my OEM struts have never been replaced. So about 8 yrs old....had Eibach springs for past 4 yrs. My ride feels ok maybe a little soft on bumps etc.
Do you think it's time to replace the struts and if so...should I go with the KYBs??

Its probably time to replace the eibachs...lol

Seriously though double check your springs there are members here who have had problems with their eibachs cracking and breaking. If this happens while you are driving you are at serious risk of having an accident.

And yes if you have surpassed 60k miles the general consensus is it is time you replace your shocks and struts.

If you have to replace both your shocks and springs maybe look into coilovers as you can just buy a set and replace basically your entire suspension.
