Krylon Fusion or Plastidip for headlight housing?

Hey guys, I just bought an extra set of headlights and about to open them up so i can paint the housing black..

After looking through the threads it seems like Krylon Fusion and Plastidip are the most popular paints that are used to blackout the headlights..

But there seems to be mixed opinions on both of them... so...

which one would be a better choice? (or is there some other brand thats even better?)

for those who have used either one of these, did/do you have any problems?

and what are the best procedures to go about painting these?
ex: what grit sand paper do i have to use to sand the chrome down (if i even have to at all)
do i have to spray a layer of primer before?

sry for list of questions, i'm pretty new to all this :confused:

I would use krylon fusion for "Plastic" It bonds to plastic. I dont know what look your looking for. Flat or the shiney black. Krylon fusion dries to that shiney black. I used Krylon fusion for platic to paint my grill. Its been over a month now driving and its holding up really well.

rustoleum satin. black quality paint. slight sheen... same stuff i use to do my wheels and those get serious abuse alldayeveryday!
 
Fusion all the way, I used fusion in my hl's 3 years ago and they are still holding strong.

Fusion also comes in Satin, Flat, and Gloss black.

  • Satin Black
    Available in 12 oz. — 2421
 
rustoleums my favorite from a can, they make a plastic paint too & they have it in home depot, krylon fusion is also good though... many paints will work in a headlight, get's no abuse really other than heat which most paints can deal with...
