How do I find out what fcc id belongs to my car if I dont have the remote? Is it stamped on the car somewhere I want to get the key fobs for the car but Im not sure which transmitter I need. Please someone help me I am lost and the dealer was no help?

The dealer should be able to tell which version key fob links with your fx by your vin.

So I'm having an issue with my smart key. Earlier in the morning the key was working fine and now suddenly I can't start the car with the smart key. Now I actually have to take the key out and start the FX the old way. So when I got home I switched and took my spare smart key thinking its the battery both this one also does not seem to be unlocking the doors in the FX. What can be the issue?

Possibly the battery in the spare is dead too?
That might have been the issue bc I took both batteries off and played around with them and one worked and the other did not. I'm going to buy two new battery's and see if that fixes the issue.

I believe its CR2032. I bought a blister pack Maxell CR2032 lithium batteries -pack of 5 for about $1.85 from Amazon, and free shipping. Both of my fobs batteries were weak earlier this year on a 2009 vehicle.

I have an 06 FX...one of my fobs is dead, the other on the way out. Can anyone confirm if I need the CR2032 or CR2025? Thx all.

Check your owners manual or just open the fob and look at the installed battery. It may be that the first gen's use a different battery than the second gen. I have a second gen and it uses CR2032.
