Hey guys, Im trying to install my K&N filter in my 06 45 and it is very tight and i am having some issues, I am taking the clips off the box but i cant get it open enough to get the filter out. I did this on my 05 35 and that was easy as pie, a little help please!

You can either push really hard on the tube with the MAF sensor Upwards, where the accordian type tube is to get it loose. This typically makes you really force the filter out, which you might damage the filter.

The easier way is to loosen the tubes and remove the MAF tube from the box all together (which is what I do).

or you can just buy a JWT pop charger and not have to worry about it=)
 
I just put in a K&N filter last week. Its a tight fit but I was able to unclip the box and pull out the old filter and pop in the new one. I had a friend pull out the box while I forced the filter out. The hardest part was getting the old filter out, once out, the new one slipped right in. Hope that helped.

Depends on what degree of magnitude you mean by big. HP/torque gain? Maybe, not something you can feel -- maybe 1-5 hp. Throttle response? Yes, slightly improved due to better air flow. Gas mileage improved? Yes, slightly maybe .1 mpg max. It's more dependent on how you drive.

Basically a higher flow air filter that maximizes the engines performance and efficiency.
 
wish k&N made the whole intake for the 45's They always work well on my passed vehicle and are easy to install

Hi, what is the difference before you put your new K&N filter and after you put it? I am wondering if it is really slipped. Is there any positive advantage in using K&N?
