Just got my '07 FX on the road last week....what to do first?

Hey Guys,

Just picked up my first FX....'07 FX35 AWD. Loving it. There are a few mods I'd like to make but I'll have to go slowly since I'm on a tight budget. It's beryllium pearl...maybe not the coolest color to work with as far as cosmetic mods go, but I like it.

First off, do you guys have any recommendations on trustworthy places to look for Xenon HID kits? I'd like to get 10,000K bulbs for both the fogs and headlights. Also, I'm not a huge fan of the parking lights (the yellowish ones closest to the grill)...any ideas on what to do there?

Also, what would be the best/easiest way to get up over 300hp without a huge increase in decibels?

Thanks!

Welcome to iS!

The color will probably grow on you. I certainly like it a lot more now.

Getting over 300 will be hard. I'm at 250 to the wheels with intake, full exhaust minus headers, and a tune. Of course if you use a different dyno, that will inflate you numbers. I think I'm around 270 on a Dyno Jet equivalent.

Thanks fellas! Stu, what is the factory net hp?...couldn't find that anywhere. Jmess, thanks for the links.....I saw a pic in the gallery of an '07 with the angel eyes lights...might have to seek those out.

I'd guess stock HP to the wheels to be around 200ish based on what I was getting on dynos with a couple mods.

The Beryllium is a great color...Im only biased because thats what mine is! Good luck!

I kind of miss my Beryllium '06. Clean car that did what I needed her to. Still trying to 'tame' this new beast in my garage.

Don't be ashamed of the beryllium. It's a great color. It looks best with a good tint and clear or smoked lights. Look into the dtrl swap to change up the headlight's current look. You can also color match some trim and depending on what you do with the headlights, play with the grill. Performance: start with intake and exhaust for starters and go from there down the line.

Don't get hung up on the color,, even tho it's not your optimal choice, it's great. I wanted the copper color like all get out, but "settled" for DG. It's still great, but like me, you'll fall in love with this whip and go overboard modding and whatnot.
I have a guy in RI who did my LEDs but I'm generally not a DIY person (in the immortal words of Dirty Harry,, "A man has to know his limitations"). He is a good guy and isn't expensive.
He did my fogs and mains, all interiors and my license plate light for $110.
I only needed ballasts for my fogs.

Us New Englanders should hook up! Pissa!!Good luck bro!
