Isimple update

I just updated my iPod touch to OS 4.0 what ever that means, now my music don't play through the interface! I went back to where I had the interface installed, the guy knew exactly what was going on. He told me I need a new part for the simple. He doesn't know how much it will cost, but the part should be in by the end of the week. I think it sucks that u have to keep spending money just to have the convenience of the iPod.:mad.:

i had the same problem. bought the part on ebay for $30 shipped. but it didn't work, even after i updated the software. i ended up returning the item and used the first suggestion on isimplesolution.com which was to turn off all the dip switches except for the 4 one. only thing is i can't control my iphone anymore. i can only switch track on the iphone not thru the radio.

I didnt update my iPhone to IOS 4 for that reason. I don't feel like paying extra money for something that was difficult to work with anyways (iSimple), lol. Firmware 3.1 is fine with me.

How do you guys like that iSimple iPod intergration. I friggin HAAAAAATE mine. What a mistake, taking the dude's advice from the stereo shop.
You almost need a degree in astro-physics just to figure out how to use the thing.
Then, sometimes it reads the track on the display, if it doesn't you have to wait until that track is over to advance it.
Does the oem one work okay?

Should have named it "iSucko"!!

Just saw the isimple at bestbuy and was curious about it. Been looking online and it seems like reviews are VERY mixed. Some love it, some hate and some say its about right for the price. On amazon its only $100 and at Best Buy its $200, but that includes install and a 'guarantee' that it will work. Sounds like that might almost be worth the extra $$ considering all the issues people report having. Any further thoughts or updates? Anyone tried both this and the USA Spec iPod adapter and might have some insight as to what is better? Thanks,

What I noticed was I didn't upgrade my firmware correctly or the firmware itself was causing bugs. Make sure the unit is discharged and use the latest firmware to update. Always correctly 'Remove hardware' from the USB to pc. I wanted to throw it out the window before redoing the firmware. It's been working fine the past few months and everything's functioning as it should. I bought an iPod to use with the unit and quit using my iPhone.

Thanks for the reply. Ive been doing some more research, and looking on here as well. I think Im actually going to get the Dice MediaBridge. Seems like the best option, especially for potentially adding Video capabilities on down the road. Offers Bluetooth as well, but its a little spendy...oh well.
