Just got the Invidia Gemini exhaust installed. Love it so far but cant stand the noise inside the car (way too loud for the wife and baby). I am looking into installing Dynamat in the doors and trunk but have heard that wont do much.

Any other ideas on reducing the exhaust noise?

at first when i had mine installed they were loud as well but they will tone down overtime driving on DS has a better tone to it then driving on D in my opinion.

Thats good to hear. How much do you think Dynamat will help?

i have actualy seen a couple of cars not FX's but louder than the Invidia such as eisenmen exhaust systems and install dynamat and it helped significantly depending on how good theybare at installing it.

Ask Logan and Jumbosrule about dynamat. I know they both were adding it, and they have aftermarket exhausts. Logan even has the first gen Invidia.

I think with the 2nd gen FX that's as quiet as your going to get. In the 2nd Gen's, Infiniti uses a hell of alot of sound deadening material in the car. If you want to see for your self, pull the carpet back on the second row seat when you have the seats down. Alot of padding and barriers on the floor. Adding Dynamat inside will help a little but not significantly. I think it just helps more on cars without alot of OEM sound deadening.

That's why I don't want to do an exhaust on the car cause it will turn it from luxury/sport, to just full sport mostly. Besides the stock exhaust sounds fine to me under throttle. That's why Infiniti toned down the exhaust a little on the second gen's cause that way you can have sport/luxury whenever you need them.

If I can't get the noise down will have to go OEM. Hopefully someone on IS will be ready to swap.

Screw that bro. Fit an OEM G37 muffler/mid pipe on the FX. All that is needed is extending the tips.
