He guys,

Today i received my Invidia exhaust.
So i removed all the old rusty shit and made my way through all the stainless pieces of pipe to get them underneath the car.
Maybe i did something wrong but the pieces from the cat's (replacing the Y-pipe) are a PITA to install, also the X-piece is hitting the cross bracing.
Not just touching it but lying on it with some weight.
Now i got all pieces in place even used a car jack to push the last piece in place) but did not tighten all the bolts up to torque yet.

Anyone else had the same issues with this exhaust?
Looks a bit weird that an exhaust from this price class has such a bad fitment.

Was the mid pipe hanged on the hanger when the x-pipe was seating on the cross member? Have not heard of anyone having a problem installing the Invidia thus far. Many member with Invidia had to have muffler shop welded an additional hanger on the passenger side to keep it from hitting the GTSPEC rear lateral brace.

:quiet:.....just looking the internet now for pictures of installs and i found out what i did wrong.
In all my enthausiasm i installed the 2 pieces that replace the Y-piece the wrong way around....mufflers facing the cats.
They need to face to the rear.....omg.

Coverall back on and here we go again.....

So, i've changed around the front pipes and it fit like a dream!!
Just did a test drive and i noticed the raspy noise is gone unfortunately.
But now instead it has a more lower/deeper tone, sounds good.
No over-the-top sound at all, even when you hit the pedal it doesn't sound too loud.
Also the X-pipe stays well clear of the bracing, around 10mm so no strange noises and bumping pipes.

All in all, back pain and muscle pain but it was worth it

hehe, sometimes you need to learn the hard way i guess
Even my girlfriend told me that normally you should do some RTFM haha.

But now it's a pleasure to start the car and wait for the heavy tone coming from the exhaust.
Just thinking if it's over the top if i will clean the exhaust every now and then, now looks very good underneath the car. :glasses-cool:

Next week some more projects, my black grille should come soon, change out the brake pipe on the front wheel, replace front brake pads and change out the lifters of the tail gate and hood....busy busy.

Nice. Congrats on the successful install. I had mine for a couple of years now and love it.

Thx guys.
After a few days driving around with it i can still confirm i am really satisfied with this exhaust.
Loving the deep growl it has now!

And it will get more, just ordered a 5/16 plenum spacer to improve the engine more....Unichip is the short future plan

I've shot some pics today of the stainless pipe underneath the car.
Next job as seen on the picture is to remove the tow bar and get it blasted and painted as it looks like shit compared to the exhaust
