This weekend I got a chance to install the usaspec nis and I must say the install was a breeze for me. It literally took me 30 min. After hooking it up I was getting song information and than it disappeared. I don't know if I pressed something that made it go away or what. I pressed display and I still don't get anything. Has anyone had this problem and got it fixed? Overall I am still very pleased and it sounds great.

Do you know which mode you've set the box to? I prefer the "folder mode" cuz it let's you play the songs by the playlist, artist, albums, all songs, ipod direct, and aux input mode from preset 1 through 6 respectively. Check the manual for a detailed information on how to set it up. You need to do an initial set up before you can utilize these features. Good luck

i let mine sit on 5 so i can manually control the ipod. don't do that while you're driving btw. congrats on getting it done. i notice you've been here since 2008, you're due for some pics.

Thank you. Actually I almost bought an fx in 08 but I wasn't able to, being that I was too much upside down on my Charger and I end up buying one in Aug 2010. I just posted up a couple of pics but I'll put up some more pics.

Once you've set it up you'll be able to see the song title/ artist/ album info on the display with preset 1-4. Also keep pressing the "display" button on the dash will allow you to switch from one display mode to another (for example, from the screen displaying only the song title to displaying the song title + album info).

I think I posted it somewhere here before but my dip switches are set to 2,3,4 ON. This give up the option to change tracks from your steering wheel and the radio controls. Also you can control the ipod manually. The only bad thing is that there is no title screen.

Can you still use XM with the USA spec?
Like Sujit said, the short answer is yes. The long answer (maybe unnecessary) is that you use the "radio" button to access the iPod. For example, if you're on AM mode, you'd press the "radio" button twice to switch to "XM". This may either direct you to XM or to the iPod (in most cases to your XM). You'd then just have to press the "Radio" button three more times to return to the "XM" mode but this time your radio will be connected to the iPod.
In other words, the XM alternates between the XM radio and the iPod.
