Install my Weapon R and Wood Dash Kit on my FX45

ooops sorry it was LMS Intake !!!

Last mod will be Momo Automatic, with gas prices these days Turbo Supercharger is out of the question.

Beside the FX45 with the Weapon R is more then enough, love the sound when reving that engine.

Also sounds great once you hit 75 - 80
 
I have never been a fan of wood trim but I must say that looks really nice with the brick interior, good job! :top: What would you say is the biggest difference that you felt with installing the Weapon R intake? Look great.
 
Not sure if it is me, but I think i am getting about 1/2 to 1 mpg more.

When I get re-fuel this Tuesday I will check it out again.

Car sounds more aggressive with the Weapon R now heheh
 
I'll be installing a wood kit pretty soon (not very similar at all to yours :xd:) and I'd like to hear how it holds up over the next few weeks. Do you park out in the sun at all? I'm hoping that a long bake in the summer sun won't ruin the dash kit... I bought a box of alcohol prep wipes to clean the heck out of the surfaces before applying. I also haven't touched any plastic parts with ArmorAll or crap like that in atleast a year. I'm just paranoid it won't turn out right. I'll have to get myself a heat gun for this to do it right...

Yours does look good / flows well with the brick interior.

As for the intake... is it just me or does anyone else think the VK45 looks like a bunch of scrap metal in a bin? There's random parts and pieces hangin out all over the place :rofl:
 
When i spoke with the dealership in manhattan he taught me to use the air gun also.

This will make it stick better and i have parked the car in a few sunny location and it still hanging on.

Other then that it all good
 
i really am not an expert.... but if a hairdryer is hot enough to split apart a headlight then i would assume its hot enough for the 3m tape that typically comes on the dash kits... its just to make it extra tacky and allow more sticky stuff to make contact riight?
 
All you really need to to do is get the 3M tape hot enough so that it'll stick better and you can mold it to contour of your dash.
 
Alright went through a full tank of gas with the Weapon R

60% Highway and 40% Local, got a full 330 Mile on a full tank

That is a good 30 - 35 Miles increase, which translate I am getting about .75 to 1.5 Miles extra per gallon.

Avg is about 15.8 Miles Per Gallon which is huge for the FX45.

Just fill up yesterday will see what I get this time.
 
Yeah that was what I was getting too also, base on all forums and people the Air Intake does work.

Do not understand why manufactur have to make their own, just make them all sport one LOL

so what I don't understand is.... what does the Weapon R intake does that my LMS doesn't? And why such a big difference?
 
Ken, there is way too many variables to say one cai saves fuel over another cai. The most important variable being driving style. If you start driving conservatively and not drive over 75mph on highway and stop gunning the engine off the start you will see a dramatic improvement in mileage. I tried an experiment and I currently got 16.4avg mpg (65% highway & 35% local) with just these two factors. I know how much you like letting your FX go off the line :tongue:.
 
My wife averaged 23.2 mpg from her round trip (185 miles) from our house to san diego past weekend. I can't really say her mileage is attributable to the intake but really to her driving style.... cruise control is set to 70 all the way through.

Maybe it is attributable to the intake? who knows...
