Infinti FX35 2010 with iPhone 6

Hello all,

I'm thinking about purchasing an Infiniti FX35/50 2010 but I want to make sure that I can play my music from my phone there. I saw some threads online about issues with connecting iOS 8 to the Infiniti FX but I want to know your experience.

Mainly, I'd like to have a feedback on the following questions:

1. Can the iPhone 6 be connected via the USB connector and play music without any issue on the MY2010?
2. If the USB connection has some issues, what are the alternatives? Can the RCA-stereo be used instead? Does it work if the car is moving if I'm playing only audio and not video? Any other options (e.g. third party extension). I prefer to use the USB if possible to see the playlist in the OEM screen and control it from there.
3. Do other model years like 2012 have an issue with connecting iPhone 6 with the USB?

Thanks....

I thought the 2010 came standard with bluetooth. You shouldn't have any problems once synced up.

Hmmm i was wondering about that aswell. Do the 2010's & 2011's have bluetooth?

I have a 2010 FX35 fully loaded. I also have an iPhone 6+ and it connects and plays just fine through the car with no problems. You can connect it through the USB and play music with no problems. I have streaming bluetooth audio on my because I have the music box, which burns CD's to the cars memory and that included the streaming bluetooth audio. I can't remember.......but I don't think the music box and streaming bluetooth were standard on the FX in 2010. I think there were different packages or something but if you had the music box then you had the streaming bluetooth. I have rarely so lets just say never connected my phone by the USB......I always just use the streaming bluetooth audio with no problems. Just my $0.02......hope it helps.

When using Bluetooth audio streaming, do the controls work for skipping tracks, etc? Does it also display song info, etc? I am also considering a 2010 FX and iPhone integration is a factor. I test drove one and the USB connection gave great control, but I didn't test the Bluetooth audio (trouble pairing it). (My current Infiniti G is old school and I have to use a USA Spec kit for integration)

Yes. On the 2010 that has streaming bluetooth audio....the song and information is displayed on the console screen and you can move forward and back through tracks using the control on the steering wheel.

Thanks everyone. I got the car and I tried both the Stereo Bluetooth connection and the USB one. I was a bit concerned about the quality of the Bluetooth connection because of its digital compression but the quality seems to be really good. The album information does show up in the screen when the iPhone is connected via Bluetooth but the album cover does not show up.
