I called 10/17 to inquire about this Fx:

2008 Black/Wheat FX35 RWD ~42k
The pictures looked great and the only thing I noticed from the pictures was the small ding in the console trim. When I spoke to the salesman, I told him we were extremely picky, that we took great care of our vehicles, and had high expectations. I asked the salesman about the the car and was told that it was in Great shape. Good deal, I will be there Saturday (10/22) to look at it.
When we got there, I noticed several things about the Fx... Namely it looked like a car seat had been placed on the hood - repeatedly. One spot looked like someone had tried to clean an area with steel wool. The rear bumper had scratches to the primer from dragging stuff out of the back. The rear passenger side door had been touched up poorly (almost looked like a combination of jb weld and a sharpie), and the rear passenger side floor (against the seat and not visible in the pictures) had a coke stain (probably the whole can). The rear cargo mat had been removed (still had the marks from it in the carpet). The tail lights appeared to have had armor-all dripped/dried on them, and both definitely had condensation inside the lens. Lastly, from a distance, you could see the swirl marks from a non-DA polisher.
The salesman and the used manager agreed that the hood needed to be addressed regardless if we purchased it or not. They offered to 'completely wet sand and polish' the entire car and have it ready by when we wanted to leave (about 3 hours), but would only do so if I agreed to purchase (how one could effectively and professionally accomplish a complete wet sand and detail in 3hrs is beyond me). I asked that the hood at least be addressed before I agreed to buy. He said no. His argument was that he would have to pull his 'detailer' off of whatever he was working on to work on ours. My argument was 'does the vehicle your detailer is working on have an owner or potential sale waiting?' Also I wanted to see what the final result would be. If a hurried job resulted in lackluster results (equivalent of the fore mentioned swirl marks) then I wouldn't want it. They also refused to replace the tail lights under the remaining 'bumper-to-bumper' warranty. He did, however, offer to rob the non-matching cargo mat from a recently acquired '08 for us. (SCORE!) They also refused to budge on the price.
My biggest issue wasn't that he was trying to pressure me into a sale. It wasn't that the overall condition was less than stellar. My issue was that they wouldn't replace the tail lights under warranty, but more importantly, he failed to mention ANY of the items we pointed out after informing him how picky I was. They had a week to get the car ready for a sale and it still had issues that they agreed would have to addressed before ANY buyer left with it. If they were really interested in selling pre-owned, they would have made it look like someone other than a spoiled soccer mom slob had neglected a 3 year old vehicle for 5.
