Hi there fellow Infiniti owners!

(Do we have a collective noun? Infinistis... Infinitistis?!?! ;-)

Anyway... just wanted to pen a few lines to introduce myself - I'm Stu (aka Luca).

I recently became the proud owner of a 2012 FX30d S Premium (S51) in Malbec Black with Black interior and I have to say it is one of the nicest and most rewarding cars I've ever owned. And that's saying something: I'm a petrolhead and have had the good fortune to have owned a number of iconic cars including 2 Porsche 911s (a 1972 911 rebuilt as an RS homage and a Millennium Edition 911/996), 2 TVRs (a works 3000M and a Chimaera), an SL55 AMG and a CLS55 AMG but the Infiniti puts a smile on my face every time I drive it!!

Like a lot of other owners who's stories I read, my head was turned by the FX when it was laucnhed - the aggressive 'classic' dimensions, its sheer presence, the spec level and the fact that it's something of an enigma - but it had sort of slipped off my radar in recent years. It was only when we were looking to switch out our 'family' wagon (a BMW 4 series Gran Coupe) and decided we wanted something with a higher ride, but that still has some driving prowess that the FX/QX came back to my attention.

Being based in Surrey, England the usual performance SUV 'fare' tends to be Volvo XC60s, BMW X5s or Land Rover / Range Rovers. We decided we wanted something that was a bit different and when the penny dropped that the Infiniti had it all, a whole new dimension of fun opened up.

I'm so happy that we bought this car and I have big plans for it in terms of subtle mods and upgrades over the coming months including switching the OEM 21's out for 22's; a subtle drop (either on Eibach springs or coilovers - but need to do my research); a remap and pedal box (I'm convinced there's a lot more that can be extracted from the V9X engine; dechrome; brake upgrade; rear light upgrade (if possible - the fact that the tailgate lights don't function beyond the reversing element disappoints me) and a few interior tweaks (I'v already sourced and fitted a beautiful GTR R35 gear knob!). I'm just in love with the car... although there is a bit of me that wonders whether I should seize the window of opportunity to experience opening the FX50 and that beast of a V8!

So... I'm really excited to join the forum and a group of enthusiastic owners and will be looking to make connections, ask for your expert advice and opinions and hopefully share my journey as I personalise my FX.

I look forward to getting to know you all.

Sincerest regards and best wishes for a enjoyable festive holiday.

Luca
