Hello all,

Just raced with Honda CR-Z on the highway.
I was very impressed with the CR-Z...
I currently have 05 FX35 AWD with thses setups:

Stillen Intake w/ Z-Tube
Motordyne 5/16 Iso Thermal Copper Plenum Spacer
Berk High Flow Cats
Invidia Gemini True Dual Exhaust
Amsoil Synthetic Motor Oil
Yokohama Parada Spec-X 275/45/20 on stock 20's
Tire pressure was around 35-36psi
GTSpec Strut Bar
Running with 93 Octane
VDC was OFF

Ok, here is the story.
I was going at around 60mph on the highway and this CR-Z was right behind wanting to race since a few miles back.
So I let him pass to my right and dropped gear from 5th to 3rd, of course when there was less traffic to be on the safe side.
Since then I was flooring the car all way, even redlining it to 4th and redlining from 4th to 5th gear until the FX reached 120mph...
The CR-Z was still going strong but couldn't pull ahead of me.
However, we were like head to head up until 100mph...
In the end, FX pulled ahead but I was very impressed how CR-Z put up a good race with the FX that is modded...
Maybe the CR-Z had modifications?? But still... haha
Any opinions??
Thanks guys

Not to sound like a chump, but you guys actually "race" these things? Seriously?

Kind of agree on this one too, I haven't thought about dropping the hammer on my FX with the thought of finishing ahead of anyone. But, I just took my FX in for warranty work and got a loaner G37 - those things can go.

Hah, true though. If its in your DNA it makes you smile - Anything from go-carts to formula one cars.

Not a good idea to do this on a highway at 120mph. I know the urge but c'mon... Take it to the track

I am not the type of person who drives continuously at high speed..
It was just for like 10 seconds or 15 seconds at most..
It was late at night, straight road on highway, no cars were around me.
After I reached a certain speed, I slowed down right away.
To be honest with you guys, I am the type of person who drives right under the speed limit usually...
Just once in awhile I want to open her up..
Will take it to the track next time and I will feel the 'HEART' of the true sports car as Infiniti advertised :tongue (2):

Honda CR-Z is a 120 +-10 hp car... I think it can actually do 120 mph, but it should be kinda hard for it... Don't know what's under the hood of that Honda... It may be tuned)) Am I right that CR-Z has CVT transmission??? Anyway, I think it is tuned. Non turbo, but definitely tuned =))

To talk about the "redlining", man, maybe we missed something, but I redlined my 08' FX35 on the 4-th gear at approximately 7100 +-100 rpm (My rev limit is 7300) and 155 mph. My car is of course non-stock and I run on 98-octane.
I shift from 2-nd to 3-rd at ~85+ mph, 3-rd to 4-th at ~120+ mph. So, what I am talking about is that you might have made a mistake. I suppose you are talking about redlining it from 2-nd to 3-rd and from 3-rd to 4-th!))

Wow. I have only pushed my car like that once when I first got it and it struggled to go much above 120. It was completely stock then however, but I still don't really think its THAT much faster with mods and no tune. You must have needed a lot of road to get it to 155. What mods do you have?
