For anyone looking to replace the dash speakers then I can highly recommend the Faital Pro 3FE25-3 at circa just $20.00!

I am using these for all three dash speakers - the outer speakers required a little trimming of the enclosure with a soldering iron (plenty of depth) and the centre speaker was a very easy fit with just the slightest of trimming.

I have been running these for a year without problem and they sound fantastic compared to the BOSE originals being both crisp and very detailed in delivery, although I'm no audiophile!

"FaitalPRO 3FE25 3" Professional Full-Range Woofer 4 Ohm" from www.parts-express.com!

I have also replaced the rear door woofers with Audison and the sub amp with a Rockford, and everything sounds so much better now, even streaming Tidal via Bluetooth audio.

None of the above addresses the weedy factory amp but it's still a significant improvement over the factory kit and to the extent that I don't find myself constantly thinking about the deficiencies of the audio side of FX ownership anymore.

Just came across your post. Thanks for the tip. Did your factory speakers fail or were you just looking to upgrade? Have you replaced any other speakers?

You're welcome!

I struggled to find much info when I was upgrading, so I thought I would post my experience on here. I'm actually surprised at the lack of interest as the BOSE system often gets a slating on here.

I only upgraded some of the speakers as I was disappointed with the quality of the factory system but didn't want to go as far as a full system.

I read changing the front door speakers makes little to no difference but the opposite for the rear doors, so I just replaced the rear doors with Audison AP 6.5 2 ohm speakers. The only other speaker changs were the 3 x dash speakers as outlined in my original post and the tiny Rockford amp for the sub. Quite minor changes but a big improvement.

I am very happy with the results and haven't given the sound system a second thought since I carried out the upgrade last year, which is what I was hoping for.

I still have the FX after 18 month's, which is a record for me.
