This happened recently, a 19 year old with an M5 boasts online about doing 140km/h on a 40km/h zone. It's about 28 pages of reading so to make the long story short he was arrested and charged with reckless driving. Someone on 5series.net or so it seems, tipped off the cops about this kid and they did an investigation and found him.

I read that, so it was a member that call the cops?!

Yeah man, I think the neighbors should have called the cops, not the forum member.

Parent's fault for buying him that car, like buying your bipolar friend a nice gun.

Agreed - Too much money and too little responsibility, amazing that a parent would not know their kid better.....18, male, and 510 H/P, %'s show it's a likely not a good combination. Fine was inconsequential as money doesn't seem to be a problem for the family. Should have had his license pulled for year....

At least now he won't go bragging about speeding and maybe he is the type to do so only to brag about it. Or the parents might wise up.

He's now famous internationally as well ....

According to the officer that was interviewed, it was a US man who called it in, they did an investigation and found some witnesses around the neighborhood who actually saw him speeding down the street. Someone from York Regional Police actually posted on the thread.

As a family member someone killed by a reckless driver, I think this story is awesome. A little dose of reality might slap some sense into that kid. I can think of at least one more forum member that could use this kind of justice...
I'm all for "spirited driving" but there is a time and a place. A deserted highway? Sure. A residential zone with people on the sidewalk? No. If you don't have that much common sense you don't deserve the privilege of driving on public roads.
+1 for forensic police work.
I also agree that buying an 18yr old (whose previous car was a CR-V) a RWD 510hp monster of a luxury sedan is dumb-da-dumb dumb.

Damn, I read all 28 pages of it. LOL.
Yes, he did eventually crash his car a week or so after he pulled the speedy gonzales, but the repair was only $5000 or so. The accident was non-related to the charges he got fined for.

Goodness JC... good find and awesome that they actually quoted you on the segment.

LOL ... I told wifey I made the news and her 1st question was, "what did you do now?"

Damn, I read all 28 pages of it. LOL.

He claims he was doing 35mph and couldn't stop the car on time and hit a pole, really?!
