I'll try to make this as short as possible.
I had a remote starter installed 8 months ago, when I came home I noticed every time I turn the HVAC on its down to warm the feet instead of going to the same setting it was on when it was turned off.
I took the knee panel off and noticed the installer forgot to plug this wire in, the hose wasn't attached, and the screw was loose.

I plugged it in, connected the hose, tightened the screw holding the sensor and it worked fine for the last 8 months. Every time I turn the HVAC it was back to the same setting when I shut it off.
Today I installed an 06+ gauge cluster. I noticed the same problem after I finished. I took it back apart and made sure it was all connected. I even took the sensor out and cleaned it with a dry Q tip. Put it all back together and still same thing, every time I press the fan button, the heat/AC is on the feet.
Any idea where I might have went wrong?
Any input is greatly appreciated.
