How to Remove Window Tint

My son just bought a '09 FX, It came from Florida so it has extreemly dark window tinting (almost black) on all 6 windows. I know the front driver and passenger windows are limited to something like 15% or so tinting here in Georgia so I am sure he will get ticketed for those and maybe the front windshield as well. Any suggestions on how to remove the plastic tinting? Take the car to a local window tinter and have them do it?
I assume that removing it with a razor blade may work except for the rear window where the defroster wire grid would get damaged?

Any help is appreciated.

All I could suggest is to take it to a reputable tinter and have them remove it and then they can apply thr lighter tint of your choice.

+1 on the tint shop if you've never removed tint before... easy to do with a razor, but also easy to make a mistake. Congrats to your son on the purchase.

I had 6% installed on my Alti SER and got pulled over numerous times so had to take it off. Ended up just picking at one of the edges on the window and peeled it back slowly. Helped because it was only on for a few months. So you might get lucky and be able to peel it away yourself. If not take it to a tint shop like Wayne and Ian mentioned.
