How to prevent a blown head gasket?

Recently my 04 Maxima (167 770 Miles) blew its head gasket and I was wondering what you should do to prevent this. I'm just looking long term with my FX and don't want to run into the same issue. Excluding what the dealership tells you what should you do?
 
check your coolant, change your fluids oil included on time dont delay and dont overheat the car. A mechanic once told me you can warp the gasket by tracking a car(that wasnt build to be tracked), or acelerating hard from a stop
