How to get this dam sap off my car

I get a lot of pine sap up here in the mountains most of the time it's just small fine spots all over the car and I am able to wash them off with a normal wash but occasionaly I get those big drops of sap and I use goo gone--
On the glass I use a old credit card and soap the glass up and just scrape the sap bumps off the glass.
If you use the goo gone I would either rewax or reseal surface that you used the goo gone on.

For some crazy reason, I think I read somewhere that mayonnaise helps to remove sap. I pulling this random memory from deep inside my brain, but I'm pretty confident that's what I read. -One of those "how to clean anything" articles.- I've never tried it.
(On a similar note, I have successfully used WD-40 to remove grease stains and peanut butter to remove bubble gum.) Good luck!

Tree sap
Clay bar will take it off . You can also use it on windows. Can be purchased at most auto supply stores. The clay bar will remove your wax as well and your paint will be slick as a button, a good time to wax. Mothers and maguires are two brands that come to mind. Hope this helps............god bless

Although it might not help with your problem, the deposits are probably not tree sap! If you do a search---"dripping tree sap"---you will find that it is most likely Insect Droppings--Yes "poo".
I discovered this a few years ago while talking to a friend that owns a landscape company. He said that the tree could be sprayed with insecticide and the apheds would be eliminated. I tried this and it worked. Of course some trees will be too large to spray.
I think that the sooner it is washed off, the better and I have had good results with car washing solution.

I have a special sponge I use for road tar, bug splatter, and sap. It seems a bit rougher than my normal washing sponge. I usually spray the location with simple green and let it sit for a few minutes then dip my sponge in my wash bucket and go to work. I use it when either a clay bar can't get stuff off or I don't want to dirty up the clay too much.
