Hoen Xenon Match vs. 4300k HID Fogs

I'm going to be upgrading my fogs this weekend and im debating on which option to go with. I hear alot of good things about the Hoen fogs but my friends are all telling me to go with the HID's. My goal it to have the brightest closest to stock color for a reasonable price.

the hoen match may look like the stock hids but tbh they are not very bright at all.

I would get 4300k HID fogs

If I remember correctly, ddmtuning price is very inexpensive: $15 for a pair of D2S and $36 for HID Kit for the fog light. I got those on mine. I like them.

i also have a DDM Tuning slim ballast kit. Super cheap, under $50 shipped. They also have a lifetime warranty to top it all off.

no complaints at all about the kit. After installing it on the fx's fogs, ive come back and purchased at least 4 more kits for different vehicles.

thanks for the great info I'll be ordering these tonight

quick question for the ddm site there's two drop down menus asking about an HID harness & Error Eliminator. did you opt for them & what are they?

we do not need a hid harness or eliminator for the fx. the eliminator is for a lot of german cars where simple installing hid fogs will throw an error code. Just the hid kit and you should be good to go

time maybe about 2 hours if it is your first attempt.

theres many ways to doing this. some take off the front bumper and mount the ballasts securely and install the fogs then remount the front bumper. this is the most time consuming but prob best way. search for a DIY on how to remove front bumper, and there are many threads on installing the ddm hid kit.

how i did it was the 'cheater/lazy' way. Looking at your fx, put your hand in the lower grille and next to where the fog lights are is a separate piece of plastic blocking each fog light. The plastic will be on the left side of the passenger fog light while looking at the fx and vice versa for drivers. Confusing, but feel around and you will see. With some force you can pull this piece of plastic outwards toward the license plate and afterwards you can reach in and remove the old fog and put in the HIDs. To mount the ballast, i removed the intake box on one side and the windshield washer fluid tank on the other. this gave me enough room to reach down, grab the wires to pull ballast up, and zip tie it somewhere. Could not find a DIY with this method here but link to another forum:

look at the picture for reference on the piece of plastic i was referring to. The DIY is wrong in that it does it differently for the driver/passenger side when for both you can just simply pull this piece of plastic outwards toward the license plate..

once again there are many ways to do this. search around for a diy that you are comfortable with :). Good luck!

I have the Hoen xenon match and they are pretty good overall. But if you want to match whatever HID setup you have then you should go with HIDs. I just upgraded to 6K headlights and they are a little off from the hoens, but still need to color shift, so who knows, it may match. When I had the stock 4300K HIDs on, the hoens looked a lot better than the OEM HIDs. More whitish/bluish compared to the yellowish HIDs.

The best results would be to get HID foglights.

Im currently running the DDM 4500k on my fogs. They match the oems pretty well, ill try to take a pic tonight

Just took these
