yeah so i changed my mind about the NISMO exhaust for a couple of reasons and now im looking at the HKS Legamax Exhaust System...off the website it's about $995.99.
I was reading other posts and realized that apparently the HKS only comes with two out of the three sections? rear and mid??
i don't understand what that means haha...what would be missing only the Y-pipe or more?
i NEED to change out the whole system cause the previous owner did not take care of the underbody at all the system is completely rusted through. If i need to buy a new Y-pipe does anyone have any suggestions on where to buy it from and where a good place to look for a HKS would be since it appears that you cannot order online from HKS.

You only need to get the y-pipe. Here is an ebay link.

The HKS system sometimes pops up used, but it is rare. I'm sure if you did a good search you would be able to find a vendor that sells it though.

It is a great exhaust!

+1, what drew855 said. Kakumei is a great y-pipe and have it on my car with the HKS mid pipe and rear section.

can I go with rear section only?

yes. your OEM mid-pipe will bolt right onto the HKS rear section.

Mid-pipe has a high-flow resonator. It will make the exhaust note even louder, actually past legal limits in California.

I suggest the mid-pipe for those with a FX35. For those with a FX45, use your OEM mid-pipe and cut the resonator out and put in a straight pipe.

Y pipe is very nice compared to OEM, so would look into that too. The Y will bolt-on to your cats and mid-pipe also. everything is interchangeable.

If my deal with Gordon works out, I will be getting rid of my kakumei y-pipe. I can sell it to you for heck of a lot cheaper than ebay (half price). Keep your pretty penny until this weekend. I've had the Y-pipe for less than a year and it is still freakin shiny! (I've never cleaned it)

Gordon wants to trade my Stock 20s w/tires for a new Gemini system, as long as the condition of my rims are good. I know my rims are in excellent shape, but I am just lazy to take my rims out of storage. It will take good 1 - 2 hours to take out everything and put everything back in... PITA

I have a FX 35 and i kinda want the obnoxious Teenage exhaust sound...at least for another year haha so should i stick w/ the OEM or change it out? i think my y-pipe is in decent shape...im not in desperate need for a new one but i really wanted to get a complete new system.

haha yeah im not looking to buy immediately so i can wait till the weekend or even later...all depends on if i can get the money 2-gether in time.

O, I forgot to mention that Y-Pipe didn't add any noise to the exhaust, but it did add quite a bit of bling under my car. I'm sure it does more, but I can't tell since i only drive my car second half of the year annually...

I will go with the rear section only. If I will need more sound, change the mid-pipe.
Any good address with HKS new/used mufflers? I could find on ebay :/

Most likely will not find a used one on ebay, but definitely check it every once in a while. The most likely place you will find a used one is if someone is selling theirs either on IS or the .org. You will most likely have to buy new.

First two results on google say they have the system. I would also call HKS directly.

You could also opt to get the flowmaster muffler like pmanliu and tchuck have. The sound is very nice with the stock midpipe.

Also, you can no longer buy the mid-pipe seperately. So if you plan on buying an HKS midpipe later down the road you will not be able to unless someone is selling theirs seperately used, which is highly unlikely. You could get the ztek midpipe like I have on ebay, and am happy with, but im sure the quality of the high-flow resonator is not quite as good as the HKS.
