Hi,

Well while cat 5 hurricane Irma goes over us in PR, I wrote this post to consult you guys about a situation I had with one of my HID headlights. Last night I noticed some pink light coming out from my car. One of my headlights (right) was projecting pink light, left one was normal. Later this headlight shutoff completely. Subsequent it lights ups again with pink color.

By your experience, does this looks like a HID bulb problem or ballast?

Sounds like the bulb is going bad, you could always rule it out by swapping bulbs.

I just upgraded to some osram cbi 6k's. They're nice. A small touch of blue barely different from stock suprisingly.

Done. Replaced with cheap 5k HID. Work as expected. I liked the 5K light blue compared to 4300 OEM.

Now will do research to buy good ones.

I ended up switching my headlights to 6K's.... and replaced all my white bulbs to LED's, so the 6K matched them the best... Fogs I changed to 5K so it still had some use in real fog conditions... :P

Sorry, if you are saying 6k is brighter, then all of that it wrong. 6k puts out less lights then 4300k, the blue hue makes it look brighter because our eyes are sensitive to that colour range. And as for 5k fogs, well fog lights are not more or less useful based on colour, fog lights effectiveness is solely based on beam pattern, which our stock fogs are quite lacking in.

4300k Osram Nighbreakers are the best, brightest bulbs on the market. For anyone who insists on 5k, the CBI's are where it's at.

Never said 6K is brighter... Just better match for the LED lights I have everywhere else... Especially the DTRL's which are right beside the headlights...

And went as far as 5k for the fogs cause I know our fogs aren't great, but going up to 6K for the fogs would pretty much make them useless (higher on the scale gets refracted more my water, which is what fog is, so lower colours are better, red isn't good cause our eyes aren't very sensitive to it, so most fogs are yellow in colour as they cut through the fog best while lighting up the way)... But I'm not a fan of yellowish lights so that's why I chose 5K... Mostly just for aesthetics :)
