New guy saying HI, looking to get an FX35 for my wife and getting rid of her 2000 Durango. Lots of info here to go through, we've loved the FX for a while and I think its time to upgrade, any year that I should stay away from?

I also have an 05 Evo and 04 Audi A4 Ultrasport which I will be keeping.
 
Welcome! No problematic years that I can think of... just differences in preference on suspension and bubbly seats. The brick seats are quite a bit tougher, and perforated seats in later years (I think '05+) helped out. The '03 Sport suspension is the stiffest of them all.
 
Thanks, I was thinking of 04 or 05, might go look at an 04 today with 28K miles.

Is there a way to put the factory NAV unit into one without it?
 
06+ Fx's have an updated interior dash and front bumper.

there are no specific years that are pretty problematic.

Yep, more so the Evo, it has about 300HP to the wheels with just an exhaust, boost controller and ECU flash. The name really started when I had an Eclipse GST with about 450 HP. The A4 is only a 1.8T with a few mods, that's my daily driver and Evo is usually in the garage to help make sure I keep my license.

As far as the FX, still looking but in no rush it may be a while before we get the right one. The 04 we looked at was OK but not that clean, I think the wife really wants a white one anyway not silver. Haven't seen too many with NAV.

I, hardly ever, see white FXs period. But do like white... it seem to be the trend.
 
So now I'm starting to think about the FX45, how much worse is the gas mileage and what are the other differences, obviously besides engine size. It seems the 45 has much more standard options, like NAV and stuff.

If it's been answered before I will search, bt I did a quick search and didn't come up with too much.

....as much as I love my 45, there are a lot more mods available for the 35. But then again, with the 45, it's more "out of the box", you get a lot in a package...
