When this detector automatically stores an area after three times (ie a secured storage facility) if there is a different band in that same area (cop) would it go off or when something is stored it doesn't matter

I have the 9500ix, BlendMount and a home made Invisicord from a phone cable for about two years now. Love it. If it pick up a different signal from a stored/marked location, it will go off. Be aware, the 9500ix doesn't COMPLETELY eliminates false alarms. It does eliminates lots of it though. The red light camera is nice particularly you're in an unfamiliar area. To get updates on the new camera locations, you need to subscribe their service for a fee ($39.95 for 3yrs, $19.95 for 1yr). Hmm, they drop the price on the 3-yr subsription, I paid $49.95 back then.
Yeah, no radar detector save you from laser. The cop got me doing 79 on a 55 zone with a laser gun. The 9500ix did alert me, but I spotted the cop too. what's the purpose, lol. The 9500ix did it job well for me so far. There are times that I wish it has the arrows of the V1, then again, just ease of the accelerator and take your time to look around you works too.

I just have a plain ol' Escort 8500. After all these years I still like it. I've done the invisicord thing and the next mod is a blendamount or a countryjoy mount. I do wish it had arrows too. On a trip to Yosemite, the detector would go off and it would almost be like a game determining where the cop is.

I have the beltronics sti driver radar. Had it a few years and works really well. It's undetecablte also. Picks up ka -k bands, laser, pop up, and more.

Ahaha, I know what you mean by the game & where is the cop....
Blendmount is the way to go. Very solid and stable. I have a feeling the Countryjoy mount will cause the RD to bounce/vibrate on bumps/rough road as it has nothing push down on the RD. Not sure how the 8500 mounted using the suction cups, but for the 9500ix when I was using the suction cups I have to position the two little bumps on the top end of the RD against the windshield as support to prevent it from bouncing. I think that how it is suppose to be mounted in the instructions that it came with too. So after seeing the Countryjoy mount, I have fabricated something like the Countryjoy mount using a piece of 1/4" thick plexi glass and bolt the suction cup bracket (just the metal bracket without the suction cups) on and the RD bounces over bumps/rough road badly. On the 9500ix where the suction cup bracket (the metal) part slips onto the RD, there's wiggle room, it's not tight fit between the metal mount bracket and the RD. Since the Countryjoy mount reuse the metal bracket from the suction cup mount, the joint between the metal bracket and the RD is not any better, so I have a feeling that the RD will bounce/vibrate on the mount. Whereas, on the Blendmount, the spring/tension loaded bracket pushes down on the RD which creates a solid joint.

Yea the blendmount is nice but the price is horrible. Price is like day rape or something.

I have been using valentine 1 sins never got a speeding ticket
I have an Escort 9500ix with Blendmount with la_fx35's power cord too. I like it so far, but I haven't updated or used all the features yet. As expensive as the Blendmount is, I think its worth the money. Looks clean, professional and the adjustability is nice. Suction cup mount FTL.

I see what you mean. I was a little dubious of reusing the suction cup mounts. You're right, it isn't the tightest fit to the RD. There is a lot of "play". However, mounted on the windshield, I notice that my 8500 doesn't bounce around like it did on previous cars. No idea why. Maybe because the two little bump on the top front next to where the metal bracket slide in was not lean against the windshield as a support? I know on the 9500ix, when using the suction cup mount on my other car, if the bump on the RD is not lean against the shield, the RD will bounce/vibrate.

That must be it. The FX has a sharply angled windshield compared to my previous cars.

Make urself some long invisicord and use the suction cup that came with the detector or buy some bigger ones. this helps to keep the radar detector low on the windsheild. That's what I did n I am very satisfied.
I have the valentine one and it is awesome, but lately here in the state of Ohio, it has started to go off regularly due to the installation of traffic sensors in our state. My fathers valentine one also has the same problem and both of us have recent valentine ones. Valentine told me they are working on a fix for this. Doing some research on these traffic sensors, i found out that escort and now belltronics are the only ones which have a filter for these traffic sensors which are being installed all over the us. These sensors pretty much set off the k band. Until valentine has a fix, I would stick with escort or belltronics, but only if your state has these traffic sensors------otherwise go with the valentine if you like the directions.
