hi all. just picked up a 2010 FX35 with touring, tech & nav. glad to be back in an fx - i owned a 2003 fx45 from 2003 until 2007 when my first son came along. anyway....

looking to add rear video and trying to decide between headrest or overhead dvd. i had the headrest monitors in my ford edge that i just got rid of and liked the way they worked but wasn't really happy with the fit and finish.

looking for recommendations on what others are doing.

thanks.

i guess a follow up question about this which may help make my decision easier, are the headrests in my model active - can't find anything that says they are. also does anyone know if there is a mounting bracket in the roof already that would make attaching an overhead much easier.

Overhead can easily replace dome light. I did that in my 1st gen; monitor is light enough that it won't sag the headliner.

I would go with the overhead monitor due to the larger screen size. However, if you have two kids who can not agree on the same movie to watch, then maybe having the two separate headrest screens/players would be best.

I have dual headrests with separate sources. Comes in handy when the kids don't agree on the same thing. Separate movies, videos, pictures, games through auxiliary input, SD card slots...can't beat it. But it depends who and what your gonna use it for.
