Ok guys I need to pop my hood without access to my interior.

Problem battery died-I removed battery to charge it over night. I locked all doors to be safe-had to leave my car somewhere :-(. Only door with key hole is driver side door. That lock works sometimes and not other times well now is one of the times it doesn't work

Can I pop the hood from under neath? I don't have a splash shield
If I break the grill will I be able to pop hood? I have a extra grill at home that I got free
Or is a locksmith my only option

Well money is tight with Christmas, and repairs I'm about to have to do. The 1st 2 options are free
I hope someone can help me get it open from outside

it would be a pita but you may be able to drop the lower engine cover and get at the wire at the back of the alternator... if you can attach a wire there then you can ground another wire and charge the battery a bit from there with booster cables or something, just give it enough juice to unlock would even be good... otherwise break the grille & try to unbolt the 2 hood latch bolts I guess...

I have the battery. It is charged. Igot a ride home to charge it and got dropped off to pick it up. I thought it would be quick :-(

If I hook cables to alt and frame could I unlock the doors? Would enough power go through ?

I dont have lower engine cover but it was tough to get to alternator due to coil overs. I hooked a wire to alt and battery and got locks open!!

Now to try to figure out what he problem is. 2 batteries this year. 2 alternators this year :-(

Why not open the inside of the car. Use a flat screw driver to pry open the from pass door. Then use a thick wire with a hook on the end to manually unlock the door lock. Had to do it twice to my fx. Works but takes time to pull off.

that can do damage, scratch up the jamb, stretch out the door shell, damage the weatherstrip... I mean it is a common way and does work in a pinch but probably not the best way...

glad going to the alt wire worked for you bro :top:
