Help i changed my oil with 5w-20 for fx45

Hi Guys,

I just bought my FX45 and decided to change the oil last night. Asked my brother to pick up synthetic 5w30 and gave him the code for the fram oil filter.

Without double checking I went ahead changed the Oil and just now decided to look at the Container to find it Says Castrol 5W-20. :eek.:

Will this hurt my motor to run it temporarily. Or would I have to immediately purchase 5w-30 and if I am not correct its 6.2 Liters right?

Any suggestions...

If it was my car, I'd just run it for 3k miles on the current oil, not abuse the engine and swap out the oil to 5w-30 on the next change. I'm pretty sure 2k miles with regular driving using 5w-20 oil will not blow up your engine unless you drive your like a maniac.

Better gas mileage, you can drain the oil right now if you feel awkward or anxious.

Yes its the right filter.. it was a b*tch to come out.. so i had to punch a screw driver through the old filter for enough toque to twist it off.

I do feel a bit anxious, i had no idea it would take effect on my mpg. May run it for 2k for now i guess.

My first day on here I have already learned so much.. unbelievable!

At the moment I only have 5L. I need to top it up another litre. should I stick with the 5w20 or could i mix it w/ 5w30???

I would add 5W-30 just so that the viscosity in the engine is 5W-25 instead (sort of) :smile (2).
Just remember to change it out sooner than regular schedule maintenance.

Thanks Aero..! kind of.. off topic. but i tried looking up a DIY to remove my headlights (Project Blk-OUT) cant find any.
I had a g35 prior and good lorks.. had to remove the bumper and fender liners. I already blacked out the grill any links or suggestions?
BTW @ aero your ride is sexy and clean are those 24's? specs

You'll be fine I used to run 5w20 before I joined iS lol just switch over to 30 next oil change like everyone else said.

I'm even more extreme on the simple side. I'd wait full term to change the oil and would sleep well tonight. Keep I'm mind these motors commonly burn oil.
