I was attempting to replace my suspension with coil overs, and when I started disassembling the rear I broke one of the rear left shocks bolt. Does anyone has any suggestions as to what I need to do to replace the broken bolt.
Your help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Ramiro

Nice. Take lots of pictures. You'll probably have to rip out the trunk trimmings to get to the stud. If I remember correctly, that area is double layered, so you won't be able to see the inner end of the broken stud. Most likely, you'll have to drill through the two layers of frame and may also have to drill the upper layer a bit larger from inside the trunk so that you can have some wiggle room to drop the JB weld and the replacement bolt through it. Good luck.

Thanks. Actually what broke was the weld and the bolt was free spinning.

I had to cut the bolt in half to be able to remove the shock. Im dedicating all my time in doing this tomorrow and get the suspension swapped. I will try to snap pics (hopefully I dont forget)

To remove all the rear left (plastic) panels I spent a good 2 hours. Gosh this thing is filled with plastic. The problem will be putting everything back together.

Anyway, I had to make a hole about a quarter (coin) big to be able to drop the new bolt and the locking washer.

I was only able to install the rear coil overs, WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!!

Tomorrow Im tackling the front, then I will be reassembling the rear panels and then drop it for alignment.

I am really happy with the amount of drop I got with the coil overs, I may lift if a little after a few weeks, or may be not. I will post pics tomorrow after everything is done.

I did not took any pictures of the panels disassembly and rear suspension, I was "in the zone" :)

Bump from the dead but I also broke off the rear upper stud on my 04 fx35. The remaining stud is in the hole at an angle. And there’s something wedged behind the welded nut. Is it the gas tank? How would you drill this out?
