[HELP] 2015 QX50 Fuel consumption

Hello All,

I am new owner of a QX50 and have driven with it for a week now. Found that no matter how hard i tried, i was not able to meet the city fuel standard that Infinite official announced ( 17MPG or 13.7L/ 100KM).
These number could not reach even i was driving under a normal city condition. It wasn't slightly off but it actually captured at 11.7~13MPG or 18~20L/ 100KM. I want to make sure there is nothing wrong with my new car. Would you please share your daily fuel consumption with your EX37 or QX50? And what potential problem you think it would be?

P.S. - When i picked up my car, the dealership guy told me that they only filled up with regular gas in my car which a QX50 requires premium gas. Would that be a problem too?

Thank you all.

Regular gas definitely gives you a lower gas mileage than premium.
Make sure your tank is almost empty and fill up with a fresh tank of Chevron.. or even Shell.

Not sure what gas costs in your area, but premium gas is about $0.60 more than regular, or about 30% more. Not sure I would bank on premium fuel giving you a 30% bump in gas mileage.

premium fuel, driving in D (or self-shift to high gears) and a light light light foot will get you their advertised MPG.... however, people drive sporty cars in a sporty manner. Rarely have I gotten anywhere close to advertised MPG on my 05 FX35 or my 09 FX50 (even before the modifications)

try an ECU reset (look it up on this forum) then drive like a grandma... see what happens.

On average, I get about 14 mpg city. For right now, my modifications are pretty basic...just Stillen intakes and a g37s muffler. I definitely agree on switching to premium and doing an ecu reset. I reset mine after each season.

ya intakes will mess with your MPG without a tune. you are introducing a bit more air, hot air, and the edu is giving more fuel to make up for it (or you are running lean, so edu keeps trying to send more fuel) 14mpg seems appropriate for NYC mixed driving on an Infiniti though.. .they are sporty cars.

Yeah my m35 was about the same, so I'm not too concerned. I do want to get the car tuned though. I was looking into UpRev, but now I'm leaning towards EcuTek
