Hey i was wondering if anyone in this community have repainted their headlight housing into a different color, i have seen pictures of cars that have done it, and i was wondering whats the difficulty of doing this.

I've done it.. Pretty simple. It takes a while, though..

Thanks for the link!

Can i see pictures of your outcome?

Sure
Here's how dusty they looked stock.
there was a huge crack behind my headlight assembly..
so yeah, and apparently I couldn't get it replaced under warranty.

I also did a quick buff on the headlight with toothpaste..:

After buffing the heads from a slight haze, passenger side had the most
I used sandpaper, compound, polish, and wax.. the correct way:

Same here, just like gold, painted mine satin black, masked the shrouds to leave the chrome accent, a fairly easy DIY but makes a big difference, and def do the lenses too if they are "beat up"

oh alright thank you guys! did you have to take off the front bumper to disassemble the headlight or no? and what did you use to reconnect the lens cover to the housing?

Yes you need to remove the bumper or at least loosen up the top/side screws to gain access to headlight bottom mounting screws.
To seal the lense back just use a sealer, you can pick one at any auto store, clear one is the best to make it less visible.

I removed the bumper as you can see in the pic lol
For sealing the lens back I reused the adhesive.. I close them up, heat them back in the oven and push them together even harder.

You can use industrial zip ties to squeeze the lens and housing together, just don't over tighten it or it will crack the plastic.

Easier.. they're just bolts holding the bumper on

I had to reheat my headlights twice before they would fully peel apart

I personally thought the bumper was harder. It's very tight to get a couple of the screws out and you have to pop some clips out. I cracked a couple, no big deal. Headlights are more delicate, but relatively easy. Take all the screws out, pop it in the oven, done. And you can either reuse the butyl sealant already in the headlight, or you can buy more. It's really not recommended you use silicone. If you've never taken your headlights apart, you can reuse the sealant.

Mage, when you say TSX-R lens, do you mean to say you replaced the clear lenses with brand new ones?? Where did you buy these?

Can you just buy different bulbs to change the intensity of the light? Example... 4000k to 6000k?

That will just change the light color and barely the output. 6k will look whiter with a little blue in it, but the blue actually decreased light output. you want around 5.5k. However most that sell 6000k D2S headlight bulbs they come out white.
