Having trouble on deciding on a 2008 of 2009 FX35.

The 2009 FX35 looks better to me. But I'm really more interested in which year is more customizable. I'm thinking of a few upgrades like engine, exhaust, wheels + tires, and minor aero upgrades. Which model year has the most and best customization options? Price difference isn't much of a factor for me.

Hands down go for the 2009 if you can afford it, no question about it. I was at the same point you are two years ago and I don't regret my decision to choose the 2009 one bit. As far as upgrades like wheels and exhaust, you have several options for the 2009 (exhaust: ARK, Invidia...Wheels: MANY CHOICES!). There is an OEM Aero kit available, but its hard to find, I'm looking for one myself! good luck
 
Just get the '09, 1st gen doesn't really have any more customization options than 2nd gen. You can get intake/exhaust/hfc's/tune/coilovers/springs/supension braces/big brakes for either model. Just like 1st gen, some parts from G is adaptable to 2nd gen. I think the only thing you can't get on 2nd gen is camber correction kit so if you slam your car, you can't fix camber. Not that big of a deal for most.

Thanks! I will get the '09 since it looks better to me. Don't really care about camber. Might just lower it using lowering springs.
 
I think it depends on the car too...condition, mileage, packages included etc. Which will be the better buy with all these things considered? Personally I would
think about those things also.
 
I had to make the same choice and am so happy that I went with the '09. I love this truck! I have a friend with an '05 and now wants to get an '09 too.
