Has anyone ever tried to swap out their steering wheel?

i'm wondering has anybody in here ever swap out their steering wheels? i saw this one ebay and think it would be cool to have the GTR with a custom flat top and bottom. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Nissan-R35-...Parts_Accessories&hash=item53eebb1f27&vxp=mtr
Also would it be compatible with our car?

The wheel itself should fit onto the steering rod/column, the question/issue might be with the air bag connector and steering wheel controls, the plugs are not the same, so that would definitely need to be addressed. I swapped the wheel on my 1st gen with the steering wheel from nissan 370z, but those are practically the same wheels.

you can always custom the badge and change it up

Look at replacing just the ring section of the wheel and keeping the FX switches, airbag, and logo cover. Switching the ring is way cheaper and easier compared to the whole wheel assembly and you could never be sure the airbag was compatible. From the service manuals the FX and GT-R wheels are different.

The 370z and Juke Nismo look similar in shape but have different leather options.

You could have an FX steering wheel customized for less money. Flat top/bottom, alcantara, bigger diameter, more pronounced thumb areas, all that. You'd get the same look without having to rewire for controls and airbags if that is even possible. If you buy that wheel, you still have to buy controls and airbag which are easily north of $500.

Has like a blue/black CF, bigger grip bolsters, and alcantara on the grips and airbag cover.
