Here is the quick scoop. (will post pics after I get back to my laptop). My steering wheel on the very top looks as if it melted. When I bought the car, the previous owner had a tendency to wrap his right arm around it and just rub it when he was stuck in traffic, so with time he weakened that area and now with all that California heat it starting too look worse. I don't want to go and get a steering wheel cover (it's just tacky IMO). I did some search on line to see if there are kits to restore it or do some DIY leather myself but so far no luck.

Any ideas and suggestions as always kindly appreciated!

Thanks

BTW is it genuine leather or leatherette on the first gen? I have an 04.

i used wheelskin on my maxima before and i find it to be a quality product. i did it over the existing leather though (stiching holes already made). i think it took me an hour to stitch slowly while keeping the leather tight.

i just checked the site and it looks like it is available for the fx. im not sure how easy it is to rip the existing leather off and using this. anyone experienced with this?

here's a pic on their gallery:

That doesn't look too bad. Thanks for the info. I will look into this:)

I have the wheelskins leather steering wheel wrap.......VERY excellent quality, takes about a good hour to stitch using the baseball stitch using two threads......wear gloves, your fingers will get torn up unless you have rough hands.
