Greetings all,

I just purchased a component set to start tearing out all of the Bose factory system of my 08 FX. I noticed that the dash and door speaker have the same color wiring going into the speaker. I'm trying to figure out how to wire the crossover to the component set. Will I have to run new wire for the tweeters? Your help is more than appreciated!! Thanks in advance!

Can you explain a little bit more what your plans are. Are you planning on running your new component tweeter in the dash, or in the door? Or are you replacing all the speakers with aftermarket? All new amps, or using Bose amp to power doors/ dash. Just a little clarification is needed to help out the best we can.

The stock speaker wires on each side are actually split. One end goes to the door, the split side goes to the dash speaker. I think it goes through a resistor and is split from there. If you plan to put the woofer in the door and tweeter in the dash, your going to have to run another speaker wire to the dash from your xo. Depending on the power you want to run, I would run new 14-12 awg for all your speakers and not use the stock wire at all.

Awesome! That's exactly what I figured needed to be done, but I just wanted to see what others were doing. I'm planning on installing a set of 6.5 Morel Maximo's up front and some coaxials in the rear with a 5 channel. I am going to eventually get rid of the entire Bose system but I am working in phases. The system will be moderately powered; nothing to piss off the neighbors too much. Thanks for the reply!
