Hello,

My wife and I have been in the market for a new (to us) SUV for the past couple of months. I drive a 2000 full size Chevy Standard cab pickup and she drives an '02 Honda Civic Si. Our repeated 7 hour trips to the parent's place with a 75 lb Golden Doodle in tow have made us realize our need for more space.

She didn't want a car, but didn't want a full size SUV (ie Tahoe) either. After several considerations and test drives including the Trailblazer SS, Mercedes GLK, Acura MDX/RDX, Equinox, Terrain, and BMW x3, we have decided on the Fx35.

I have driven 1st gen. RWD & AWD as well as a 2nd gen AWD. I can't justify the price difference between the 1st & 2nd generation Fx's, so we're looking for an '06-'08 RWD Sport 35.
In fact, I have 6 lined up for this weekend.

All of that to say I have researched the Fx extensively, and I have repeatedly landed on the pages of :iS:. This board seems to be the most user-friendly and best laid-out board of the several that I have come across. I have already made mod plans for my un-acquired Fx based upon the information gleaned from this site.

I'm sure I'll have questions, and in a short time, I'm sure I'll be able to provide answers.

Here's to a great site.

We drove down to Atlanta this weekend from Nashville and ended up buying this one in Chattanooga. Our first choice would have been a Black/Wheat sport; however, it is really hard to find a used vehicle that someone actually took care of like we would.
I was surprised, appalled even, at the condition of some of these cars that were on the dealer lots.
One black one in particular had scuffs/scratches on the hood from (what appeared to be) where the previous owner had put a car seat, REPEATEDLY. WTF? The car had 40k on it! Who would do that?! The dealer said they would not replace the tail lights that had condensation inside the lenses (even though the bumper-to-bumper warranty was still applicable) and would not pull his detailer away from what he was working on to address the hood without our commitment to purchase, meanwhile refusing to negotiate the price. We left.
We only found one clean black Fx in Atlanta. They too did not want to negotiate, so I called the Chattanooga dealer and told him that I was sitting in a Black/Wheat like we were looking for... He asked what it would take for me to drive back to him. I told him, and he agreed. The Atlanta dealer, in so many words, told me not to let the door hit me in the @ss.
I would have rather had the Black, but the Gray was our 2nd color choice and not worth the $4000 difference.
Next up... lowering springs.

Welcome to the family! Your stories are familiar to many of us, and it sounds like you belong here - where we appreciate (and almost worship) the FX.
