Got UpRev?

I finally got my 45 tuned and dyno'd! To be honest, I was expecting a lot more bang for the buck. At the end of the day, I ended up with 15 more hp & 15 tq. The shift points have been adjusted and after a couple of days, I'm finally starting to get used to them. Maybe it's just me, but I think the exhaust was louder before the tune. It does seem as if the FX runs smoother and the mid-range power is where I have noticed the biggest difference. Here are a couple of pix from the big day...

What other mods do you have done, in addition to UpRev? 15hp isn't so bad, I don't know how much Unichip does, but I heard upwards to 30hp? I'm confused about the AWD dyno. I always though our AWD systems stays in RWD until it senses slip and then directs power to what ever axle it needs it at. But every 45 dyno video I've seen has all four wheels spinning.

They start in awd mode until ~12mph. That requires an awd dyno. Also, any difference in rotational velocity front to back qualifies as "slip". The only way around this is to pull the awd sol fuse.

15/15 is a nice increase but I would have expected to see a slightly bigger gain on the Torque side. The 45 loves to breathe, did you complete the basics with regards to intake/exhaust? Killed me to wait for my tune as I needed to finish my laundry list of perf upgrades (and I still have another tune in front of me) enjoy the added power.

Hey, if you don't mind can you please add your results/info to the dyno proven section? Dyno results vary but it helps members know what to expect when they spend their hard earned dollars on power upgrades :)

Lol @ 30 HP... that's the most you can gain. On average the NA 35's gain anywhere from 10-25hp. Unless your at church's dyno in Cali where everyone hits 30+.

Your unichip with a street tune should be good for 8-10 whp alone. It would depend on the breathing mods you have done to the 45.

Our awd systems don't read right on the dynos in most cases. Due to the dyno makes the car thing its slipping so its not a true read of HP. This is why all 4 wheels are spinning. I've seen some dynos show 180whp on the 35. Around 210-235 is about right for a awd.

I have my uprev cable in the mail... but haven't found a dyno shop yet to help me, I'll be on a street tune I make until then

I have an Invidia exhaust, JWT intake, BC coilovers, & I'm a part of the bent GTSpec group buy crew... So that mod may take a little longer than expected.:mad.:
I was a little disappointed in the Dyno results 235hp... I thought the 45's were 320hp stock!
i'll post the Dyno results later today.

Stock g35s can do 235 whp. Maybe that shop had issues with it.

So you have a simple intake and cat back. You probably would of gained about 10 just a tune alone. A lot of the gain is felt when they do the 100% WOT feature. Stock tune only allows like 75 or 85%.

That 15hp gain is peak power. Showing a dyno plot will allow us to see all the power gained under the curve, which is what I care about.peak power is nice but we don't hit 6k daily. I'm more focused on 2.5k-4.4k gains.

Don't hit 6k daily? Okay grandpa!

only time i hit 6k is when i in a hurry to get in bed by 8PM to watch Mattlock.

Here are the stats...

this is almost exactly what i'm talking about. A large gain happen at 3300-4000, both in HP and TQ. thats what YOU feel as a increase. If you aren't after big HP numbers, you can ask the tuner to put that power a little to the LEFT, overall you will have less peak HP but a lot more USEABLE HP. But your 220whp is a little sad... What did they say was average #? All dyno's read a little different, everyone uses that excuse because they are hurt because they wanted 300hp. I know my g35x is good for 200whp, i'm expecting 235whp but lets see how it goes.

Ooooooooo did Sharif tune it??

OooOo... I've heard good things about Sharif on the Z/G boards. If it was him, he should know what he is doing.

on a side note, guess what i got!!!! I can now do +2 timing advance for anyone here. No need to buy a unichip or anything for that. Let me know.

This is what a stock g35x AWD ran 217whp and gained 10whp after tune.

He is a shop owner but still a little new, so there might be more he can push out. Kinda supports what i'm saying that a uprev tune on a STOCK car is good for 10whp give or take because you lean out the AFR and bump up the timing.

Holy crap... this 45 gain 30/30hp for a total of 262hp!
