Hi guys,

Need some advise from the community since i got stuck in my 2012 FX50 last weekend

Since i bought it in May, the passenger windows didn't work on the driver side switch.

Sunday, going for lunch in town, my door didn't want to close (-20 celcius).

So i locked it to keep it closed. When at destination, i tried to unlock and open the door. Nothing. Tried the key, remote, button, all that. Goes in my friend garage to let it unfreeze (in case). Nothing, door still locked, front windows went down automatically.

(btw, i exited by passenger door)

So, 3 hours later, I holded the lock button 10 sec. Press unlock, opened the door.

Now, my passenger window work!!

I'm worried about that kind of failure and I hope it's a one shot deal.

Any advise would be great!

Regards,
Asth

Ouch, never had any problems like that with my 2010 FX50S. Yours is a 2012, does it not have warranty. It sounds like some things were frozen due to the cold weather, and then some electrical glitches.

my door will tend to stick from time to time as well when I try to close it and the door just bounces back open. But it always works the 2nd time

Being that you live in Montreal, I'd side with it being an cold weather issue. Let it warm up in the garage next to a space heater and see if the problem persists.

Most probable it's "door lock actuator".
I've had similar issues last 2 winters and replaced 2 actuators on 2 doors.
Actually, it's a known problem of Nissan/Infiniti

See link for details:

Part 80500 or 80501 depending on side (that's for front doors)

More info: if it's a 2012 vehicle it should be still under the warranty. Don't hesitate and get the car to the dealership, it should be covered by the warranty.
(mine died exactly 1 month after warranty expired)

Hi guys,

I really appreciate your help.

It's still under extended warranty since my full warranty ended in Nov .. (seem mine might be starting to die 1 month later too)

So i went to see the dealer and they said that they will change the driver control panel and see if it's that (not really accurate in my mind but.. )

If it wasn't of the blue display for speedo/RPM , i would had took a 2011 S.. don't like standard seats, my legs hurts after 1-2 hours drive

I hope it will be the only defect on this model, i come from kia and changed because of #1 lack of power and #2 lots of electrical problems :(

Let us know the outcome. & if they actually replaced the actuator or a door lock control unit.

Just to give some feedback.. the issue never happened again (wish) and i still have to pay a visit to dealer, but will be changing dealer since i really don't like the one i bought it from..

When my fx35 was doing that recently where the locks would not really unlock they changed the locks for both front doors

Add the same problem about two to tree weeks ago me and my brother in law got closed in the car 20 minutes later doors would not open so we add to go out true the back doors, that add append before 4 times in the space of one month after i purchase my 2011 fx35 front passenger door failed to close it would stay half open and it would not open again after driving for 15 to 20 minutes it would start working again but this time i called my infiniti dealer they told me to come in the next day to check the locks all they did was remove the locks they tested the electric components and they were okay but they found water moister infiltration on the locks so they used silicon grease to lubricate and prevent water infiltration again they also greased up the cables and so far they are working fine now even after last week -20c cold days
