Does anyone know if it's possible to remove the trailer hitch, what i need to remove it... Also anyone got an idea of how much it weighs and how that will effect the vehicle balance if any... I will never tow anything so would like to dump the extra weight!

just cut it off where it is welded on....not everybody had a hitch so it won't affect anything!

I would recommend removing it properly. I removed mine but it was quite a bit of work. You have to partially remove the rear muffler can to unbolt part of the tow hitch. Alson there is the wiring harness underneath the spare tire compartment as well as a bracket in the rear passenger side that part of the tow bolts on to. I think the total weight is around 40lbs. You don't have to worry about balance issues after removal.

If someone wants to buy it I'll sell it. Other than that I never planned on doing anything with it. Just wanted it off. I just figured it was extra weight not needed on the vehicle...

Different hitches attach differently - most likely you can just unbolt. You might have to move or loosen exhaust components like the Doc said.

As for weight - lose the spare tire and supporting tools - that's more than 75lbs! Instead, you can carry a can of fix-a-flat or a plug kit in case you need it. You can also put all that stuff back in if going on a road trip or something. Around my home city, I don't miss the spare tire at all...

For claification, my comment was meant specifically for the oem hitch and not a aftermarket. If you are not going to sell the hitch then you won't need to remove the wiring harness under the spare tire compartment or the rear passenger side bracket. But if you do seel it then you will need to remove all those pieces in order for the hitch to mount and work properly.

can we see pics on the condition of this hitch? I'd like one to pull a jetski.

Its still for sale but some eles has got dibs on it.. I just havent paid to take it off yet.. I tried myself but... that didnt work out so well....
