G35 Oil Filter Leaks

Good to hear.
Something else to check for - Once while checking for the gasket at the store I surprisingly found some surface rust on the inner face.
 
Never used bosch or Mobil 1.

Mainly oem nippon or pure1. Even used some random cheapies on my vq30. No issues. Maybe it was just a freak filter that should of never passed qc.

Glad it's just the oil filter. I've used Bosch a number of times and never had issues. Maybe just a random defect or some bored store employees playing catch during closing hours.

I'm not surprised to hear it was an uneven thickness gasket. I've seen square cut gaskets made wrong like that before. In manufacturing, I can invision a cylinder of gasket material (like a tube) where a knife is suppose to slice off a certain thinkness gasket. Somehow the cylinder gets distorted as the blade cuts it off and an uneven gasket is the result. The thickness would only need to be off by about 1/32 to 1/16" and it could be a problem sealing, so careful inspection at the store is required.
