2015 QX70
Looking to trade up to a newer fx/QX. I've found certified 2013 fx37 w/ 20k miles for $31k and a certified 2016 qx70 w/ 9k miles for $38k. What changed between years 2013 and 2016? According to the Car and Driver reviews, nothing. Is that true?

Yep, other than the name, some paint colors that was pretty much it. The 2015 Did introduce the Sport Package with Dark finish grill, roof rack, rims, and roof rack on the outside. The inside had contrast stitching (light purple/blue)on the seats and doors. No wood trim on the Sport either. If you don't plan on getting the sport trim there is not a difference. With the 2017 the only difference is the grill.

Thanks JC - an extra 3 years of warranty for $7k is pretty steep. The 2013 feels like a decent deal. Now I have to convince myself to give up the ol' FX45...

I too had a 45, pics in my garage, upgrading to an FX50 was definitely worth it. However I do wish I would've waited a bit longer and got a 2012 instead because like the newer front bumper and grill and the power rear lift/hatch.
In your case you'll be losing those two precious cylinders upgrading to a 3.7 as well lol

I say go for the 2016. You def can bring the price down and who knows maybe you can get some money for the FX45. The first gen still seem to be popular plus you rarely see the FX45 on the road.

I went from a 45 to a 50s this past spring. This past week I had loaner qx70. I was not impressed. I would not recommend going from a v8 to the v6. The power was lacking, there was body roll when I pushed it and the brakes were lacking.

Sorry! Not trying to bum you out... Just know I would have preferred keeping the 45 over the qx70 after driving it. The interior of the qx70 is a huge upgrade from the 45 but performance wise not so much...

Welp, I ended up getting a CPO 2015 QX70. Also kept the FX45 - dealer didn't want it, offered me $4k for it (said they can't sell till the airbags get replaced and Takeda is way back-ordered). For $4k it can be my stunt vehicle.

QX70 is great. I see your point about the loss of torque - but I think it will work. Thanks for al the great advice.

I found a CPO 2013 FX37 (25k miles) fully loaded with 20" wheels for $32k but I got a loyalty discount; $29k out the door. In your situation I probably would've done the same thing and pay a little more for less miles/newer model. Either way, test drove a new QX70 and didn't find anything too different. Enjoy the new car man!

I dont know fellas, I brought a new QX70 (premium package) and love it.. I've had it 3 months, its been fun to drive.

I'd buy a V8 2WD, no snow in Houston, but, you can't just run away from a 2WD in one of the V8's I'll bet. You won't get a half block ahead in any road race.

They're incrementally faster, but only when driving 10/10ths. The rest of the time you're not going to need many more horses than the V6 brings to the game. There's a lot of Mojo in the v6 sports package.
