FX35 AWD Full Fast Intentions Custom Exhaust Install

I finally completed my full Fast Intentions exhaust setup. I purchased the G35 coupe stainless round cat back and completed the setup with the High Flow Resonated Cat Pipes previously installed. I believe I am the first FX to have this setup, the other FX had the traditional FI CBE with no FI Cats. This is one of the best exhaust built that I have ever seen and the sound with the full setup is absolutely "AMAZING!"

There were some minor modifications that needed to be made in order for the exhaust to fit.
Step 1: After the stock exhaust is removed you need to remove and cut the heat shield that is located in the rear of the car just above the muffler to make room for the new exhaust.
Step 2: EVAP canister cover needs to be removed in order for the passenger side muffler to fit properly. Driver side muffler fits perfectly, but the passenger side muffler will not fit on the hanger due to its round shape and will rub against the EVAP canister.
Step 3: The two lead tubes that bolt up to the cats have to be modified in order to fit the AWD model. The lead tube after the cat on the driver side has to be cut, flattened and welded to fit properly. High temp paint was applied to the weld in order to prevent rust after welding. The lead tube after the cat on passenger side was flattened to prevent hitting the support bolt.
Step 4: You need to remove the entire cross member to install the X-Pipe. X-Pipe on driver side under the sway bar has to be flattened.
Step 5: In order to align the mufflers, the tips have to be extended. High temp paint applied to where the welds were made.

First 4 Pictures below show modifications performed in Steps 1-5. Remaining pics show how the exhaust originally hooked up without any modification and places it was rubbing against!

Man, I'm glad mine didn't need that much work to make it fit. I just had to cut out a corner of the evap cover, although I never put it back on, and removed the muffler heat shield, and maybe the drive shaft heat shied. Spaced down the w-brace also for clearance. There is not a lot of clearance in a couple spots, but it's not touching somehow.

Video will be up by next weekend guys. I am meeting up with a friend in PA next week who previously had this same exact set up on his g35 and he can't wait to hear it as well. Stay tuned... :smile (2):

Looks great. Just wondering how much $ was spent on the custom installation if you don't mind me asking. Wanted an idea if someone going to attempt this.

Couldn't be that bad, exhaust shops are normally very reasonable. I had my custom Invidia done for under $200 and that included cutting off the resonators, merging the front single pipes into a Magnaflow resonated X-pipe and then welding new flanges on the back, modifying the brace some to fit, welding on new hangers for clearance, and some other stuff. Took over 4 hours and the price included new gaskets and flanges.

Thank You, it cost me $450, took the shop 3.5 hours to install the exhaust. Exhaust does not rub anywhere, and the welding was top notch. Going for an UPREV tune next Friday, can't wait! Didn't have chance to upload a video last weekend, because my starter went up :eek.:. Will have additional photos and videos then!

Thanks for the info. Please do post up pics and videos. Love to see some dyno numbers as well.
